Read all together this summer! This year we hope to inspire kindness, unity, and a love of reading through participation in the program.
Children and teens who participate will build reading skills and earn great prizes!
How it Works
This year’s summer reading program focuses on helping children and teens build reading skills and motivation.
Participants aged 0-18 who register for the program and log minutes of reading can earn badges, free books, and a chance to win one of this year’s great prizes. Kids and teens are encouraged to read 10 minutes each day, and participants who complete the program by reading 600 minutes before August 5th will be entered to win a grand prize.
Each participant will receive a free book and book bag for registering and will earn incentive coupons for logged reading.
All Summer Reading Program activities will be online and are an excellent way to help children and teens stay engaged with learning!
Grand Prizes
This year’s grand prizes include Andriod Tablets, Kids Edition Tablets, Apple AirPods, tickets to the Kansas City Zoo, Art Supplies, snack boxes, a Baby Tummy time water mat, and Eric Carle Board Book set.
Adult Summer Reading Program
This year’s summer reading theme is about unity and community. To participate read and log any 5 books before the end of the program on August 5th. If you need reading suggestions, then check out this list of books. Participants who read all 5 books will get a free book and mug!
